Siri Is Telling People Stan Lee Died Yesterday
Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee is going to die. This much is certain. And it will be an incredibly sad day when Stan "The Man" finally leaves us. But it hasn't happened yet, even though Siri seems to think that Lee died yesterday -- July 2 -- at the age of 95. Think I'm kidding? Ask your Siri, right now, "How old is Stan Lee?" It will go like this.
Here's how we found this. We were driving home from a media screening of Peyton Reed's new movie, Ant-Man And The Wasp. Stan Lee has a cameo, because of course he does. And my teenage son commented that Stan was looking old, so it will be sad when he no longer can make Marvel cameos anymore. So my kid casually asks Siri how old Stan Lee is. And Siri tells us that Stan Lee died on July 2, 2018 at the age of 95.

That's not too creepy.
So, we raced into the house, and started scanning news outlets. Nothing. And so far? Still nothing. If Stan Lee had died, this news would be everywhere. Why does Siri think that Stan Lee died yesterday? We asked it again this morning, in the video above. They are sticking to this story. Could it be true?
UPDATE: Siri seems to have corrected its information, and now just says that Stan Lee is 95. Which is accurate. Stan lives to fight another day!
Stan Lee has been the face of Marvel Comics for generations. And it's delightful that he has seen his vivid and colorful creations come to life on the big screen the way that Marvel Studios successfully has managed for the past 10 years. Prior to this current run of Marvel films, Stan Lee had to watch some of his best characters suffer through mediocre adaptations. For every Sam Raimi Spider-Man, there was a botched Hulk or a made-for-TV Captain America story that didn't do Stan's visions justice.
You can see Stan Lee making a cameo in Ant-Man And The Wasp this weekend. It is the 19th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Stan has appeared in all of them. He even branches out to the worlds of Deadpool and the X-Men, reminding fans of the far reach of his creativity.
One day, we will be forced to write Stan Lee's obituary. And it will be sad, but it also will be celebratory, for Stan has lived the life! Thankfully, though, today is not that day.
